This article answers some Frequently Asked Questions about the surveys in the Zencity platform.

Are responses public on Zencity?
Survey responses are not public in Zencity. This is the case even if responses were previously visible in Commonplace.
We encourage you to publish engagement summary reports once your survey closes in order to feed back to residents on the results.
The only exception is collaborative activities such as the Collaborative Map, where responses are public.
Can people respond to a survey more than once?
By default, surveys can only be completed once - this is to prevent people from skewing the results by 'spamming' multiple survey submissions.
If you'd like to build a survey where people are expected to respond more than once, we'd suggest doing the following:
- Create multiple copies of the same question set within a single survey.
- Insert 'Add another response' or 'Complete survey' buttons in-between each question set.
- Use branching logic to direct people to the next question set or the end of the survey, depending on their answer.
It is also possible to enable 'Kiosk Mode' in the survey settings screen, which enables multiple responses - however, this setting is designed for use (e.g. on a tablet) at in-person engagement events, and the above guidance will produce the most robust results.
Why don't the response numbers match what I saw in my Commonplace dashboard?
There are a few reasons the response numbers may not match what was shown in your Commonplace dashboard - the mismatch does not mean that any data was lost.
The survey response totals shown on the 'Surveys' page in the 'Ask' section are de-duplicated totals - meaning that if someone responded to the survey more than once, they will still only be counted once in the number of survey responses.
Disable the 'de-duplication' toggle in the survey results page to see the full, non-de-duplicated response numbers.
Additionally, because responses in Zencity are not public, agreements (the 'thumbs up' button in Commonplace) are not a factor. When you saw the 'contributions' figure in Commonplace, this generally included agreements.
The only exception to this is Collaborative Maps, where responses are public and can be 'agreed' with.
