This article provides some quick guides for actions you may be used to doing in Commonplace, and how to do them in Zencity.
If you have any further questions, please get in touch with us at support@zencity.io. You can also view other articles relating to the migration here.
How do I edit a content page?
To edit a content page navigate to the 'Content Pages' page (under Communicate). Next, click the three-dot menu and select 'Edit Page'.
Adding and re-ordering content
Content can be added to the page by dragging and dropping from the 'Content' menu on the right-hand side - the blue line indicates a location where content can be dropped. Content can also be re-ordered by dragging and dropping.
Useful Note
Nearly all content blocks from Commonplace have an equivalent in Zencity, as well as some new additions like Notification Signups and Important Dates.
Some sections are named differently - the 'Team' section from Commonplace has become 'Profile Cards' to reflect that it can now display information about both organisations and individuals.
Sections
Content can be organised into named sections (e.g. 'About the Project') - these sections can then be re-ordered using the up and down arrow buttons.
The sections can be displayed in two possible formats.
- 'Single Page Scroll' displays a single page with all sections visible at once.
- 'Tabbed Content' displays each section on a different tab, similar to how the 'News', 'Timeline', etc. tabs worked in Commonplace.
You can decide which of these formats you want to use (as well as a 'None' option which hides the navigation bar entirely) by editing the 'Section Navigation' setting inside the settings for the hero banner.
How do I edit a survey?
To edit a survey navigate to the 'Surveys' page (under Ask). Next, click the three-dot menu and select the pencil icon.
Adding and re-ordering questions and content
As in Commonplace, surveys can include both questions and content split across multiple steps in order to create an engaging and interactive experience for residents.
Questions and content can be added to the survey by dragging and dropping from the 'Content' menu on the right-hand side - the blue line indicates a location where content can be dropped. They can also be re-ordered by dragging and dropping.
Editing, duplicating or deleting questions and content
Hovering over a question displays a menu - from here you can edit the content, duplicate it, re-order it within its section or delete it.
Steps
Each survey can be broken down into one or more steps, to avoid overloading the respondent with too much information at once. These steps are visualised in the vertical bar on the left-hand side - click the plus icon to add a new step.
When branching logic is implemented in the survey this will also be represented in the vertical bar.
The 'C' icon represents the completion page, seen by a respondent at the end of the survey.
The 'D' icon represents the disqualified page - if you choose to, you can configure the branching logic on a survey to redirect respondents to the disqualified page if they don't meet the criteria for responding to the survey.
The 'T' icon represents the teaser - this is the image, title and description shown when the survey is advertised on a content page.
