This page provides an overview of some of the exciting new features and improvements the Zencity platform offers.

Many of these improvements were made as a direct result of your feedback, so please sharing it with us.

If you have any further questions, please get in touch with us at support@zencity.io. You can also view other articles relating to the migration here.

Content Page Enhancements

  • The addition of Home and Hub pages allows for easy creation of organisational and departmental-level pages, allowing residents to view all projects happening in their area or focus on topics they're interested in.
  • Greater flexibility over where content can be placed - add a timeline to a news update or an document library to a project homepage.
  • Increased layout flexibility - group content into sections, choose a single or double-column layout, and decide on tabbed or a single-page navigation.
  • Access to new content block types including profile cards, important dates and a dedicated iFrame block.
  • Easily translate content into more than 75 languages at no extra cost.

Survey Enhancements

  • Access to several new question types including image ranking, numerical input, sliding scale and yes/no.
  • Improvements to many question types, such as:
    • Character limits on open text fields.
    • The ability to prohibit pasting text into open text fields.
    • Limiting the number of options that can be selected under a multiple choice question.
    • Visualisation built into the budget question.

  • Surveys can be restricted so they can only be completed by people with an access code.
  • Surveys can route people to a ‘disqualified’ end page if they don’t meet the criteria for completing the survey.
  • Surveys are restricted so that they can only be completed once per person (for more information see our Survey FAQs).
  • News update sign-up fields can be embedded anywhere within a survey.
  • Demographic questions are included in the survey, which means they can be utilised in the branching logic - or omitted entirely for surveys that don’t need to collect demographic information at all.
  • Access to new collaborative activities, including discussion forums and ideas walls.
  • Live engagements offer a new way to poll residents live during face-to-face meetings or workshops.

Mapping Enhancements

  • Navigational/informational maps are now their own entity - they can be added on any , and don't require the creation of a collaborative map.
  • Increased flexibility when it comes to map pins:
    • Pins are no longer linked to a 'sentiment' question - they can relate to any topic.
    • More colours to choose from beyond the standard 'traffic light' scale.
    • Custom SVG pins can be uploaded directly, rather than needing to request this from Support.
  • Maps can be constrained so that pins can only be placed within - or outside of - a specific boundary.
  • Residents can filter the map to see only pins relating to a specific topic or theme.

  • Any question can be set to have its responses hidden from public view, meaning you can ask for data like postcodes without worrying about data protection issues.

Reporting & Analysis Enhancements

  • Exportable and shareable data reports can now be built and customised entirely from within the platform.
  • Survey responses can be de-duplicated to mitigate the impact of respondents answering the survey more than once.
  • The 'Pages Completed' chart allows you to identify drop-off points during the survey.
  • Incomplete submissions can now be included in your analysis.

Other Enhancements

  • Access to our AI Assistant that you can chat with to interrogate your data and quickly break it down into local government-ready insights and recommendations.
  • Survey preview links can now be securely shared with external users for pre-launch checks, without the need for them to create a tester account.
• Enhanced sharing options - any project, news update or survey can be shared with your audience by email, and QR codes can now be generated from within the platform.
