Commonplace Migration - Quick Guide to Data Analysis and Reporting

This article provides some quick guides for actions you may be used to doing in Commonplace, and how to do them in Zencity.

Where can I find my survey responses?

To find your survey responses, navigate to the ‘Surveys’ screen - click the name of the survey to open the results screen (please note that the survey must have collected at least one response for the results screen to be available).

The first page shows a participation summary - you can then use the back and forward arrows to navigate through detailed analysis of each question.

What is de-duplication?

De-duplication is a handy feature to mitigate the impact of individual users attempting to 'stuff the ballot box' by responding to a survey multiple times. When the de-duplication toggle is enabled, only the respondent's first submission will be included in the results. The de-duplication toggle sits in the top right hand corner of the screen, under the 'Share results' button.

How do I hide incomplete responses?

To give you maximum control, partial responses are saved and made visible in the results screen. The Participation Summary will show you what proportion of respondents started a survey and what proportion completed it.

To hide partial responses, simply set the 'Completeness' filter to show only Complete Submissions.

How do I export contribution data?

To export data for offline analysis, click 'Share Results' then 'Export Responses as CSV'.

How do I export demographic/respondent data?

Unlike Commonplace, Zencity doesn’t use a separate page for demographics questions. The relevant demographics questions from each Commonplace project have been merged in at the end of each migrated survey.

As such, you can now export all demographic data using the same 'Export Responses as CSV' button under 'Share Results'.

How do I download charts?

To export a chart, click the three-dot menu in the top right hand corner of the chart.

You will have the option to export the chart as either a CSV or an image, along with other display options (such as converting the chart to a different type).
