Adding Map Layers

Map layers provide geographic context for residents by displaying boundaries, routes, and other features alongside the map. Map layers can be added to Map Pin Drop questions, Collaborative Map Activities, and the Map content type.

Supported Layer Types

• Point of Interest
• Polygon
• Line
• Shape

Adding a Map Layer

1. Open the map question, Collaborative Map Activity, or Map content type you want to edit.
2. Click the 'Add Map Layer' button.
3. If you have a GeoJSON file, drag and drop it into the box or upload it from your computer. Alternatively, paste the GeoJSON code directly into the text box.
4. Click 'Upload'.
5. The new layer is added to the map and appears in the layer table below.

Restricting Pin, Line, or Shape Placement

If you have added a polygon or shape as a layer, you can restrict where residents are able to place pins or draw:

• Check 'Limit pin, shape, line to inside polygons' below the map.
• Residents will only be able to place a pin or draw a line or shape inside the boundary of the polygon or shape layer.
