Pin categories allow residents to label their pins to indicate the type of feedback they are providing. Collaborative Mapping supports either suggested categories (using a 5-option scale) or custom categories. This article explains how to configure both.

Using Suggested Categories

  1. Open your Collaborative Map Activity in the Activity Builder.
  2. Navigate to the Map page (M) and click Edit.
  3. Toggle on 'Use Suggested'.
  4. Select a category type from the dropdown menu. Available types include: Agreement, Frequency, Awareness, Ease, Effectiveness, Helpfulness, Importance, Likelihood, Sentiment, Satisfaction, Priority, Utility, and Value.
  5. The five options for the selected category will be automatically populated.

Note: Suggested pin categories use a 5-option scale, which is different from the 7-option scale used in standard Engagement Questionnaires. This is by design for Collaborative Mapping.

Using Custom Categories

  1. Open your Collaborative Map Activity in the Activity Builder.
  2. Navigate to the Map page (M) and click Edit.
  3. Leave 'Use Suggested' toggled off.
  4. Enter your custom category labels in the fields provided.
  5. Add or remove categories as needed.
