Overview
The Resident Hub is Zencity’s new Resident Communications Management Platform, designed to help local governments manage their lists of residents and groups in one centralized place. With the Resident Hub, you can segment residents by characteristics (such as area, demographics, or interests), manage subscriptions and sign-ups, and send targeted communications through Zencity Newsletters and other channels.
Why We Built It
Cities communicate with residents in many ways — newsletters, surveys, event updates, and more. Until now, contact management lived in different places. The Resident Hub unifies all these lists into one place, making it easier to:
• Target the right residents for any message or initiative
• Build richer connections using survey and signup data
• Support Zencity Newsletters and surveys seamlessly
Internally, it also strengthens your city’s data ecosystem by enriching resident lists with inputs from Zencity’s Engage, Community Pulse, and Ask tools — creating a powerful feedback loop for better engagement.

How to Access
Resident Hub is being rolled out by invitation. Your Customer Success Manager can help enable it for your account. Once activated, you’ll see the Resident Hub available under your Communicate tab.

• Focus on communication flows, not CRM management — the Hub is built for messaging, not for record keeping.

Short Topic Summaries: Instant Insights from Social Media Conversations
Overview
Zencity’s new Short Topic Summaries feature uses AI to instantly generate a concise summary of social media conversations around any topic and time frame. This gives you a quick, high-level understanding of what your community is talking about — without needing to dig through posts.
Why We Built It
Local government teams often need to understand public discourse quickly — to brief leadership, identify concerns, or guide communication. Short Topic Summaries help you:
• Get value in the first 30 seconds
• Reduce time to insight by skipping manual reviews
• Guide research direction with immediate overviews
• Make high-level reporting easy and efficient
How It Works
1. Open a Topic in the Listen module.
2. Choose your desired time frame.
3. The AI automatically generates a short summary of posts and interactions.
4. Add the summary directly to your reports for quick sharing.
Things to Know
• Works best for topics with sufficient data; may fail for very small datasets.
• Summaries are updated twice a day, not live.
• Next updates:

- Ability to summarize “All Topics” or news sources
Availability
Short Topic Summaries are available (GA) for all customers. You can try it now in your Zencity Listen dashboard.
