In-Depth Guide

To set up participant disqualification

Disqualification pages are automatically created for your questionnaire and can only be reached through jump logic rules, not through normal questionnaire flow.

  1. Identify screening questions: Determine which questions will screen for participant eligibility (e.g., age, location, experience level)
  2. Access jump logic: Click on the question that determines eligibility and select the jump logic option
  3. Create disqualification rule: Set up a rule that directs participants to the disqualification page when they select ineligible responses
  4. Configure the logic: Choose the specific answer options that should trigger disqualification
  5. Select destination: In the jump logic settings, select your disqualification page as the destination

To customize the disqualification experience

Your questionnaire automatically includes a disqualification page that you can personalize for your participants.

  1. Navigate to disqualification page: Scroll to the end of your questionnaire to find the disqualification page (appears after thank you pages)
  2. Edit the message: Click the edit icon on the text block to customize the disqualification message
  3. Personalize content: Write a respectful message explaining why participation has ended and thanking them for their time
  4. Add additional content: Use the content options to add more information, images, or resources if needed

Understanding the Details

How It Works

Automatic Creation: Every questionnaire automatically includes a disqualification page, which appears at the very end of your page structure.

Jump Logic Triggered: Disqualification pages are only accessible through jump logic rules - participants cannot reach them through normal questionnaire navigation.

Professional Exit: The page provides a polished way to end participation while maintaining a positive relationship with ineligible respondents.

Information Banner: The page displays a helper banner stating "This page will only appear to participants if it is triggered by a jump logic rule."

Disqualification Page Components

Thank You Message: A customizable text block where you can explain the disqualification and thank participants for their interest.

Stay Informed Section: An optional notification signup component that lets participants stay updated about future opportunities.

Additional Content: The ability to add extra content blocks, images, or information relevant to disqualified participants.

What to Expect

Automatic Setup: Disqualification pages are created automatically - you don't need to manually add them to your questionnaire.

End Position: The disqualification page always appears as the final page in your questionnaire structure.

Logic-Only Access: Participants can only reach this page through jump logic rules you create, never through normal question flow.

Advanced Scenarios

Multiple Disqualification Criteria: Set up different jump logic rules from various questions that all lead to the same disqualification page, creating multiple screening points.

Conditional Messaging: While you can only have one disqualification page per questionnaire, you can customize the message to be general enough to apply to different disqualification scenarios.

Soft Disqualification: Use the disqualification page for participants who don't fully qualify but whom you want to keep engaged for future opportunities through the notification signup.

Data Collection: Even disqualified participants' responses up to the disqualification point are collected, allowing you to analyze screening patterns.

Best Practices for Disqualification

Respectful Messaging: Always thank participants for their time and interest, even when disqualifying them. Maintain a positive tone that preserves your organization's reputation.

Clear Explanation: Provide a brief, honest explanation of why participation has ended without making participants feel rejected or inadequate.

Future Opportunities: Use the notification signup component to keep disqualified participants engaged for future surveys they might qualify for.

Professional Redirect: Ensure your redirect button leads to a relevant, helpful destination such as your main website or information about your organization.

Page Restrictions and Limitations

Position Fixed: Disqualification pages always appear at the end of your questionnaire and cannot be reordered.

Logic Required: The page is only accessible through jump logic - there's no way for participants to navigate to it through normal survey flow.

No Navigation: Participants cannot continue from a disqualification page to other parts of your questionnaire.

Important Notes

  • Automatic creation: Disqualification pages are automatically added to all questionnaires (except live engagements)
  • Jump logic dependency: The page only functions when connected to jump logic rules from your screening questions
  • Professional presentation: The page maintains your survey's professional appearance while ending participation gracefully
  • Data retention: Responses from disqualified participants are still collected up to the point of disqualification

⚠️ Disqualification pages can only be reached through jump logic rules. Make sure to set up appropriate screening logic in your questions to direct ineligible participants to this page.
