Understanding the Details

How It Works

Missing Translation Detection: The system identifies untranslated content by comparing available translations against all questionnaire elements that require localization.

Translation Override: When you edit translations manually, your custom text overrides any automatic translation for that specific field.

Real-time Updates: Translation status updates immediately after saving changes, removing warning indicators for completed translations.

Ignore Functionality: Clicking "Ignore" copies the default language text into the current language field, marking that item as translated without requiring manual input.

Translation Editor Features

Visual Warnings: Red warning boxes clearly highlight all missing translation elements in a single view.

Field-by-Field Editing: Each translatable element (question, options, support text) can be edited independently.

Original Text Reference: Default language text remains visible for context while editing translations.

Bulk Actions: Address multiple missing translations within a single question simultaneously.

Advanced Scenarios

Handling Special Characters: If content contains special characters that cannot be translated, they will display as-is in the translation fields.

Long-form Content: For extensive text blocks, ensure translations maintain appropriate length and formatting for the target language.

Technical Terms: Consider whether technical terms should be translated or remain in the original language for clarity.

Cultural Adaptation: Beyond literal translation, adapt content to be culturally appropriate for the target audience.

Important Notes

  • Translation completeness: All fields must be addressed to remove the "missing translations" indicator
  • Quality control: Auto-translations provide a starting point but should be reviewed for accuracy and cultural appropriateness
  • Consistent terminology: Use consistent translations for recurring terms throughout your questionnaire
  • Preview verification: Always preview your translations in context to ensure proper formatting and flow

⚠️ Manual translation overrides are permanent and will not be updated if you modify the original default language content.
