In-Depth Guide

Access the Questionnaire Builder

Start by navigating to the Engage section and locating your engagement questionnaire on the Activities listing screen. Click "Edit" to open the Questionnaire Builder where you can modify questionnaire settings and content.

Locate the Title Field

The questionnaire title appears prominently at the top of the Questionnaire Builder interface, typically displaying above the page navigation and main content area. By default, new questionnaires may show generic titles like "Natural Disaster Preparedness Survey" or other placeholder text.

Edit the Title

Click directly on the questionnaire title text to activate the editing mode. The title becomes an editable text field where you can:

  • Type your new title to replace the existing text completely
  • Edit portions of the existing title by positioning your cursor and making selective changes

Save the Title Change

After entering your new title, save the change by:

  • Clicking outside the title field to deactivate editing mode
  • Pressing Enter to confirm the new title
  • The title updates immediately and displays throughout the questionnaire interface

Title Best Practices

Be descriptive and specific: Choose titles that clearly indicate the questionnaire's purpose, topic, or target audience. For example, "2025 Community Safety Assessment" is more helpful than "Community Survey."

Include relevant identifiers: Add dates, versions, or location identifiers when managing multiple similar questionnaires: "Downtown Revitalization Plan - Spring 2025 Feedback."

Consider your audience: If respondents will see the title, ensure it's professional, welcoming, and clearly communicates the questionnaire's value to them.

Keep it concise: While being descriptive, avoid overly long titles that may be truncated in various interface views or reports.

Title Visibility and Impact

Internal organization: The title appears in the Activities listing, making it easier to locate and identify questionnaires when managing multiple projects.

Reporting and analytics: The title often appears in generated reports and data exports, helping maintain clear documentation of data sources.

Title Management Strategies

Project organization: Include project codes or department identifiers to group related questionnaires: "HR-2025-001 New Employee Onboarding Feedback."

Status indicators: Consider including status information in titles during development: "DRAFT - Neighborhood Planning Survey" or "FINAL - Annual Community Survey."

Methodology

Questionnaire title editing provides immediate updates across the platform:

  • Real-time changes: Title updates appear instantly in the Questionnaire Builder interface
  • System-wide propagation: The new title reflects in the Activities listing and other platform areas
  • Persistent storage: Title changes are automatically saved and maintained across sessions

Title modifications do not affect questionnaire content, logic, or respondent data—only the identifying name used throughout the system.
