Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in Zencity

What is Multi-Factor Authentication?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds a second layer of verification to your Zencity login. After entering your email and password, you'll be asked to confirm your identity using a one-time code before accessing the platform.

Setting Up MFA

Multi-factor Authentication is enabled on request. If your organization would like to turn on MFA, reach out to your Zencity Customer Success contact.

How It Works

Your First Login with MFA

When you log in for the first time after MFA is enabled for your organization, you'll be prompted to choose your preferred verification method:

  • Email code - A 6-digit code sent to your email address
  • Authenticator app - Set up an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator) on your mobile device

Once you've chosen and verified your method, you'll be logged in.

Subsequent Logins

On all future logins, after entering your password, you'll be asked to enter a 6-digit code using whichever method you set up.

Important Notes

  • MFA is configured at the organization level. Whether MFA is required for your account depends on your organization's settings, not individual user preferences.
  • SSO users are not affected. If your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO), you will not see MFA prompts, as authentication is handled through your SSO provider.

Troubleshooting

I lost access to my authenticator app. If you're locked out due to a lost or reset device, contact Zencity Support at support@zencity.io and we'll help you regain access.

I'm not receiving the email code. Check your spam or junk folder. If the email still hasn't arrived after a few minutes, try requesting a new code. If the issue persists, contact support.

I have SSO but I'm still seeing an MFA prompt. This may be a configuration issue. Please contact your Zencity Customer Success Manager or support team.
