Zencity's geolocation tools can be really useful for locating unreported service requests and responding to them. Here’s a few tips for finding your way around the map:

Filter by neighborhood

Use the filter tool at the top of your dashboard to filter by neighborhood. You can then see the leading topics for that neighborhood which can help you identify, locate, and remedy problems.

Pro tip: You can also use this tool in the discourse section to see the leading stories in each neighborhood.

Map

The map can be used a number of ways to help you locate issues. You can view the map on any dashboard (general, topic, or project). Click on the word ‘Map’ in the upper right corner (or click on ‘Map’ from the Menu) to open up the map in your main screen. Use the menu along the top to change the map view - leading topics, by topic, by type or heat map.

Leading topics by neighborhood

The map will automatically open on the ‘Leading Topics’ settings. This shows what the leading topic in each neighborhood is. The colors correspond to the key on the left.

Pro tip: Click on any neighborhood to see the discourse page for that neighborhood.

By topic

Click ‘by Topic’ to see the breakdown of topics per post. The color of the each point corresponds to the topic of the same color on the menu to the right. Unclick  topics on the menu to hide them from your view.

Pro tip:  Use the filters at the top to narrow your search, by neighborhood, topic, sentiment, or source type.

By type

Click ‘by Type’ to see the breakdown of source type per post. Unclick any type on the menu on the right to focus on any source.

Pro tip:  Use the filters at the top to narrow your search, by neighborhood, topic, sentiment, or source type.

Heat map by topic

Use the heat map feature to see where the problem is most heavily occuring. Filter by topic to see where trending topics are most prominent.

Pro tip: This feature is available on projects too. Contact us to help you set up relevant projects and follow their location on the project heat map.

Share

You can always share any information you see in the ZenCity Insights platform with responders. To save any graph as a photo, just click on the three dots in the upper right corner and share it with relevant staff.

If you would like to create a PDF report of the whole dashboard you are looking at, choose the most relevant dates and click “export” in the upper right corner, next to the search bar.
