The American Rescue Plan delivers $350 billion to state, local, territorial, and tribal governments to respond to the impact of COVID-19 and bolster economic recovery. Within that package is the State and Local Coronavirus Fiscal Recovery Fund, which directs $45.6 billion dollars to local governments.

Unlike CARES Act funding, with more limited spending discretion and a shorter deadline, local governments have until December 31, 2024 to map out their American Rescue Plan funding strategy, giving local leaders ample time to identify priorities among their community members and plan accordingly.
