Zencity New Platform Launch
Designed to give you more control over your data, more context to understand your performance, and most importantly - more efficiency in accessing the information you need to inform your decision making.
Navigate your dashboards with ease using dedicated sections
Your City Snapshot is the first glance you will have of what is happening in your city when entering the dashboard. We have placed three key widgets that help you gain an overview of the conversation in your city, including: Volume of Interactions, Sentiment Analysis, and Popular Words.
The City Snapshot was designed to help you understand at-a-glance the major takeaways from organic feedback in your city in any given time frame, so you can know whether the online discourse has increased, whether sentiment distribution has changed significantly, and - most importantly - what people are talking about.
The Discourse Breakdown section of your dashboard is the place to delve deeper into the conversation happening in your city. There you will find a range of widgets that will help you identify the topics being discussed, where the conversation is happening, the stories that are gaining the most traction in your city, and more.
On My Desk
On My Desk is an exciting new addition to the Zencity dashboard. This widget has been designed to include the items most relevant to you, including Projects that you are following that are ranked by number of interactions, Insights that have been created for you by our expert team of analysts, and key actions for you to take within the platform.
Dashboard Structural Updates
We have streamlined all dashboards - including your general, topic, and project dashboards - to separate all information across three tabs: Analysis, Conversation, and Map.
Understand what is happening in your city at-a-glance by using the analysis tab to draw quick takeaways from the data. The analysis tab is your one-stop-shop for finding a complete breakdown of all data sources collected from your city so you can understand overall sentiment among your residents, a breakdown of discussion topics, and how your city is performing over time.
The discourse screen was moved to a separate tab in the main dashboard, and has been renamed “Conversation”.
The map tab has been moved from the left-hand navigation menu to right from the dashboard, so you can easily jump between tabs to understand the discourse in your city. We have also added a new layout and new layers, to make sure you better get location-based insights.

Volume of interactions chart
The stacked chart has been replaced with an easy-to-understand line graph, that allows you to quickly and easily compare trends in the positive, negative ,and total volume of interactions.
We have also added tabs to the widget that allow you to view the total, positive, and negative sentiment conversation overall, giving you better control on what portion of the conversation you’re viewing, as well as better visibility when comparing the positive and negative trends in discourse in your community.
Data visualization for the ‘current’ day
When looking at the current day, Zencity will use a dotted line to show data collection for today isn’t finished yet.
Time-over-time comparison across the platform
To help you better understand data trends in your city, we have added time-over-time comparisons to the main dashboard widgets. This gives you the ability to see both data from the current time period, as well as understand the change from the previous period selected.
i.e When filtering the dashboard to see data related to a given week, you are also able to see the change from the week prior to it.
To give you greater insight into sentiment changes across the discourse at large as well as specific topics and projects, the sentiment analysis widget now shows the sentiment breakdown of the selected timeframe as well for the timeframe prior to it.
Comments and Engagements
The comment counter on your data items now shows a breakdown of direct comments and sub-comments, so that you can see the total number of comments on a post’s full thread, the number of comments made directly to the parent post, and the number of comments made to the post’s comments.
Topics and data categorization
Topics and Subtopics
Topics are out-of-the-box ways Zencity categorizes your data. Zencity topics have been created out of essential functions of local government, and divided into departmental themes to help you quickly understand the major themes of discourse in your city. Under topics, the discourse is divided into Subtopics - which further specify the exact topics of conversation that have been raised in each data item.
Note: Each Topic has its own filtered dashboard in which you can explore all data items relevant to that theme.
Users can filter Zencity dashboards to show the following time periods:
Yesterday - The day prior to the current day, from midnight to midnight
Today - All data relevant to the current day (may not always be complete, depending on the time of day)
7 days - The past 7 day period
30 days - The past 30 day period
Year - The past year
Month - Select a month you would like to analyze
Custom - View data according to the dates of your choosing
Word Cloud: Now with Trending words!
We have added a brand new toggle to the Word Cloud to enable you to see the words that have appeared the most times in the discourse, as well as up and coming words that are gaining momentum in your city. If something piques your interest, you can click on a word and track it down to the specific discourse. The trending words will reflect the time period that you have selected in the Filter bar.
You can generate easy, professional reports containing the data from your zencity dashboard to the rest of your stakeholders. Export what you are seeing from the general dashboard, project and topic dashboards with one easy click of the ‘Export’ button on the top of your screen.
