At ZenCity, we know that not all surveys are created equal. A lot of thought goes into creating and evaluating surveys, and we believe that data should be a part of that process too. Here's a few tips to help you with developing and evaluating surveys with ZenCity Insights.
When preparing survey questions, you want to make sure are the most up-to-date on what’s going on in the city so that the survey will be relevant. Here are a few tools to help:
Discover the leading topics from your dashboard. Click on the topic you are most interested in and you will see a sub-dashboard specific to that topic. There, you can check out the leading stories and subcategories most relevant to your survey. You can view this graph on your main dashboard or within any category or project.
From the menu, choose the most relevant topic for the survey you are developing. Each topic will open up a dashboard with all the same features as the general dashboard. There you will also find a number of subcategories. If you can’t find a topic that meets your needs, we can make a project for you.
Projects are a really helpful tool to help you define parameters for a specific survey you want to make, almost like creating your own topic. The project dashboard allows you to follow a specific topic over time or compare discourse and sentiment from before an initiative to after an initiative. Reach out to us to us with information about your project and we will help you set one up. Just click on projects from the menu and you’ll be able to submit a project request.
When looking at your dashboard, any specific category, or project you can always select the dates you are most interested in by clicking on the date range to the right of the search bar. This tool can help you focus on a time frame or compare before and after interactions and sentiment of any initiative.
Define Events on your Calendar
It is important to have references for the data you are seeing. In order to do this on the ZenCity Insights platform, you can add events. Click on ‘Settings’ to get to your event management tool.
This feature enables you to add and see important events and initiatives on your ZenCity Insights dashboard and see how it coincides with the discourse you are seeing. This can help you better understand the data you are reviewing before implementing it on a survey.
EVALUATE, COMPARE & REPORT
Use ZenCity Insights to compare survey results and report on the matters most relevant to you.. Sometimes you will want to include ZenCity information in a report in order to share it with all of the decision makers. You can use these metrics to define parameters for new initiatives or set baseline measurements for your KPI’s and monitor them over time. Here are a few tips to get you started:
Choose Dates and Export
Before you start looking for the information you want to report, make sure you are on the time frame you are most interested in. You can update this by using the tool to the right of the search bar at the top.
Pro tip: If you would like to create a report of the information you are seeing, you can easily export your page to PDF by clicking on “export” in the upper right corner.
Include Relevant Data
Your ZenCity dashboard is a good place to start collecting the data you are interested. There are a lot of tools
Volume of Discourse
A good metric to pay attention to is volume of discourse. You can look at this for different time periods and see how it changes in various topics. This is available on your dashboard, any time period, topic, or project.
You can also look at the level of discourse for different topics over time. This is available on your dashboard, any time period, topic, or project.
ZenCity’s sophisticated artificial intelligence knows how to ascribe sentiment to all interactions. You can view the sentiment overview on any topic or project for any period of time. Hover over each color on the graph to see the exact percentage breakdown of sentiment.
Check out the leading stories from your dashboard. You can click on them (or click on ‘discourse’ from the menu) to see the posts with which your residents are most engaged.
