Having the most relevant information is crucial to helping you govern. That’s why we created projects. Projects in the ZenCity Insights platform are a way for you to focus on the projects that matter to you most. Creating a project in the platform is almost like defining your own specific category. You can use this before making a decision to gather the relevant information and feedback or following a decision to help you evaluate.
From the menu, click on projects. There you will find a dashboard with all of your existing projects and the option of requesting a new project.
The project dashboard resembles your general dashboard with many of the same features. It is important to pay attention to the date range you are interested in by changing it using the tool next to the search bar.
This tool can help you focus on a time frame or compare before and after interactions and sentiment of any initiative.
What can I measure with a project?
The project dashboard is loaded with tools to help you make a decision prior to an initiative and evaluate one afterward. Here’s a few tools that can help:
Distribution of Topics
It is important to understand the discourse surrounding an initiative and why it is creating buzz. For instance, in a project about gas wells, it is clear that the topic of infrastructure was a leading complaint, while environment was less of a concern.
Pro tip: Hover over each topic to see the exact amount of discourse and breakdown of sentiment.
Volume of Discourse
A good metric to pay attention to is volume of discourse. You can look at this for different time periods and see how it changes.
You can also look at the level of discourse for different topics over time. This is available on your dashboard, any time period, topic, or project.
ZenCity’s sophisticated artificial intelligence knows how to ascribe sentiment to all interactions. You can view the sentiment overview on any topic or project for any period of time. Hover over each color on the graph to see the exact percentage breakdown of sentiment.
Check out the leading stories from your dashboard. You can click on them (or click on ‘discourse’ from the menu) to see the posts with which your residents are most engaged.

Choose Dates and Export
Before you start looking for the information you want to report, make sure you are on the time frame you are most interested in. You can update this by using the tool to the right of the search bar at the top.
Pro tip: If you would like to create a report of the information you are seeing, you can easily export your page to PDF by clicking on “export” in the upper right corner.
