When people call into 311, they often report the immediate problem but won’t let you know the root of the problem. For instance, you can get three different reports on a blocked sidewalk, noise, and trash which will be directed into three categories, but are all caused by one construction site. Using ZenCity Insights, you can easily see the root of problems like this and solve them more efficiently. Here’s a few tips on how to do this:
The word cloud shows you the most commonly used words among your residents for whichever time period and category you are looking at. The more popular the words are, the larger they will appear in the cloud. There word cloud makes it easy to see cross-category issues in a clear way.
Pro-tip: If something in the word cloud piques your interest, you can always click on it to find out more information.
When the city is having a cross-category issue, it might be a good idea to set up a project. Projects in the ZenCity Insights platform are a way for you to focus on issues that might not fit into one category over a period of time. Creating a project in the platform is almost like defining your own specific category.
From the menu, click on projects. There you will find a dashboard with all of your existing projects and the option of requesting a new project.
The project dashboard resembles your general dashboard with many of the same features. It is important to pay attention to the date range you are interested in by changing it using the tool next to the search bar.
