The ZenCity Insights platform is especially useful to help you evaluate initiatives in the long run. You can use it it to measure and compare outcomes and help you reach actionable conclusions for your next initiative. Here are a few tips to get you started:

DEFINE

Whenever evaluating an initiative, it is important to define what you want to measure. ZenCity Insights has a few tools to help you do that. One of the best ways to use the Insights platform, is to define your KPI’s when you are planning an initiative and evaluate those KPI’s after an initiative.  

Define with a Project

Projects are a really helpful tool to help you define parameters for an initiative you want to measure. A project allows you to follow a specific topic over time or compare discourse and sentiment from before an initiative to after an initiative. Reach out to us to us with information about your project and we will help you set one up. 

Define a date range

  

When looking at your dashboard, any specific category, or project you can always select the dates you are most interested in by clicking on the date range to the right of the search bar. This tool can help you focus on a time frame around a specific initiative or compare before and after  interactions and sentiment of any project. 

Define Events on your Calendar

In order to properly evaluate your work, it’s a good idea to align your calendar with what you are seeing on ZenCity.

Click on ‘Settings’ to get to your event management tool. 

This feature enables you to add and see important city events and projects on your ZenCity Insights dashboard and see how it coincides with the discourse you are seeing. 

Pro tip: You can also reach the event management tool by clicking on the three dots in the upper right corner of the discourse timeline. 

MEASURE

What can ZenCity Insights help you measure? 

Sentiment

ZenCity’s sophisticated artificial intelligence knows how to ascribe sentiment to all interactions. You can view the sentiment overview on any topic or project for any period of time. Hover over each color on the graph to see the exact percentage breakdown of sentiment. Check out the sentiment from before your initiative compared to after your initiative to see how it has changed. 

Volume of Discourse

If you want to see how much of an impact an initiative made,, a great way to evaluate is by looking at how many interactions there were around that topic. This is available on your dashboard, any time period, topic, or project. 

Duration of Volume

Another good metric to follow is the discourse timeline to see  how long something remained a popular topic.  This is available on your dashboard, any time period, topic, or project. 

COMPARE

Comparison is often a great tool in evaluating your work. Here are a few ways you can use ZenCity Insights to compare:

Comparing Projects

Using projects to compare is easy. You can set up two projects on similar topics of interest to see how how they stack up against one another. You can also look at one project over different time periods to evaluate sentiment and interactions before and after. Talk to your Customer Success Manager to help you set up projects. 

Comparing Categories

If your initiative is centered around a certain topic, a good way to evaluate your efforts is to see how that topic compares to others in terms of the amount of discourse and sentiment. You can view this graph on your main dashboard or within any category or project. 

Compare Events

Once you’ve added Events to your calendar, you can compare them to one another or compare the same event year after year. Using this tool can help you clearly see the amount of discourse and sentiment surrounding each event.
